Welcome to Jordan

Points of Interest : Queen Alia International Airport
After landing at Queen Alia International Airport, you are welcomed by a local representative who assists you with the visa formalities. You then meet your driver and travel by hybrid car to your hotel in Amman.
You stay at the Toledo Amman Hotel, the first independently run hotel in Jordan to receive the “Green Key” eco‑label, reflecting the low‑carbon spirit of this trip.
- Meals included : Dinner (according to hotel half‑board)
- Accommodation : Toledo Amman Hotel (3*), Amman
Day 2
Planting a vegetable sponge (luffa)

Points of Interest : Gerasa, Adjlun
After breakfast you drive to Jerash, also known as Gerasa, one of the best‑preserved Roman cities in the world and Jordan’s second major attraction after Petra. You explore the colonnaded streets, theatres and temples on foot with a local guide.
You then enjoy a meal overlooking the beautiful Dibeen Forest before continuing towards Ajloun. On the way you stop at farms in Kufranjeh (Wadi Al Tawaheen) for a 40‑minute walk, where you plant a vegetable sponge (luffa) and are invited to take one with you. This hands‑on activity connects you with local agriculture and sustainable practices.
You also visit the restored hilltop fortress of Qala’at Ar-Rabad (Ajloun Castle), which offers sweeping views of the surrounding valleys and olive groves.
- Meals included : Breakfast, Dinner
- Accommodation : Toledo Amman Hotel (3*), Amman
Day 3
Exploring the capital Amman on foot

Points of Interest : ‘Irāq al Amīr, Amman, Dead Sea
Today you discover Amman on foot. You visit the Citadel (Jabal Al‑Qala’a), which overlooks the city and preserves remains from several civilisations, as well as the Roman Theatre at its foot. Afterwards you continue to Iraq Al Amir, a unique Hellenistic palace set among rolling hills, known for its springs, olive trees and surrounding woodland.
All transfers are by hybrid car, while the actual visits are done on foot, limiting your carbon footprint.
Optional: Nearby you can visit the Al Amir Women of Iraq Cooperative, where local women specialise in pottery, textiles and decorative paper crafts, offering a meaningful way to support community livelihoods.
Later in the day you continue to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, where you can relax and float in the mineral‑rich waters.
- Meals included : Breakfast, Dinner
- Accommodation : Dead Sea Spa Hotel (4*), Dead Sea
Day 4
Reforestation initiative in Madaba

Points of Interest : Mount Nebo, Madaba, Dead Sea
After breakfast you head to Madaba, famous for its magnificent 6th‑century Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land. You visit Saint George’s Church, where the “Map of Palestine” mosaic was rediscovered in 1898 during the church’s construction.
You then continue to a nearby area close to Mount Nebo to take part in a reforestation initiative organised in cooperation with a local NGO and the Madaba governorate. Planting trees here not only benefits the environment by combating desertification and supporting biodiversity, it also creates income and employment for residents of the region.
This day highlights the trip’s low‑carbon philosophy and your direct contribution to local environmental projects.
- Meals included : Breakfast, Dinner
- Accommodation : Mosaic City Hotel (3*), Madaba
Day 5
Tasting Mansaf with a local family

Points of Interest : Madaba, Petra, Karak
You leave Madaba and follow the historic Kings Highway towards Karak. Here you discover Jameed, the dried yoghurt used to prepare Jordan’s national dish, Mansaf. Your culinary experience culminates with a traditional Mansaf lunch shared with a local family, offering authentic insight into Jordanian hospitality and daily life. The local experiences in and around the town are undertaken on foot.
Afterwards you visit the impressive Crusader fortress of Kerak, which once controlled one of the main routes into Palestine via the Wadi Kerak valley below the town. The fortress was built in 1142 by Payen le Bouteiller as his residence and stronghold.
In the late afternoon you continue your journey to Petra, where you settle into your hotel for the night.
- Meals included : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Accommodation : Petra Canyon Hotel (4*), Petra
Day 6
On foot through the rock city of Petra

Points of Interest : Petra
After breakfast you spend a full day exploring the legendary rock city of Petra on foot, accompanied for part of the visit by a local English‑speaking guide. Walking is the best way to truly understand the heritage of the Nabataeans and to reach the more remote temples and sacrificial sites inaccessible to vehicles.
You pass through the Siq to the Treasury, continue along the Street of Facades, admire the Royal Tombs, the Cardo, temples, churches, museums and, for those who wish, climb up to the Monastery and the High Place of Sacrifice. The day combines culture, history and hiking amid extraordinary sandstone formations.
- Meals included : Breakfast, Dinner
- Accommodation : Petra Canyon Hotel (4*), Petra
Day 7
Through the Valley of the Moon

Points of Interest : Wadi Rum
In the morning you visit “Little Petra”, also known as Siq al‑Barid, where you can see reconstructions illustrating what Neolithic settlements in the area may have looked like.
You then continue into the vast desert landscapes of Wadi Rum, often called the “Valley of the Moon”. Here, slender rock pinnacles, spectacular natural rock bridges and glowing red granite mountains rise dramatically from the sand, creating an otherworldly panorama.
The settled Bedouin of the area welcome you and take you on a camel safari, during which you gently sway across the sand dunes for about an hour. This is a memorable way to experience the silence and immensity of the desert before spending the night in a desert camp under a canopy of stars.
- Meals included : Breakfast, Dinner
- Accommodation : Harir Desert Camp, Wadi Rum
Day 8
Hiking in the Dana Nature Reserve

Points of Interest : Ḑānā, Amman, Wadi Rum
After breakfast you drive to the Dana Nature Reserve, Jordan’s largest protected area, covering around 308 km². With a local guide you set off on a long, two‑hour guided hike to discover its rich natural heritage.
The reserve offers a remarkable variety of landscapes, from high forested plateaus to rocky slopes, open plains and sand dunes. It shelters a wide array of wildlife, including many rare plant and animal species. Your walk provides an immersive experience in this unique ecosystem and underscores the ecological focus of your journey.
At the end of the excursion you return towards Amman, where you spend your final night in the city.
- Meals included : Breakfast, Dinner
- Accommodation : Khan Khediwe Hotel (3*), Amman
