Arrival in Kenya

Points of Interest : Watamu
Karibu to Kenya! You land in Mombasa, the country’s second-largest city on the Indian Ocean coast, where a representative welcomes you at the airport. From here you follow the coastline past Vipingo and Kilifi towards Watamu. After around two hours’ drive you arrive at a dreamlike white-sand beach. Check into your beach hotel and take time to rest from your journey or enjoy a first walk along the shore.

- Accommodation : Geko Resort or similar beach hotel in Watamu
Day 2
First Day in Watamu

Points of Interest : Watamu
After a tasty breakfast you set out to get to know your new surroundings. Watamu is a small coastal town north of Mombasa, famous for the Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve with its three bays: Watamu, Blue Lagoon and Turtle Bay. This stretch of coast is characterized by powdery sand beaches and offshore coral gardens. In Mida Creek, with its tidal flats and mangrove forests, you can observe sea birds and green sea turtles. Inland, the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest Reserve is home to elephants, monkeys and rare bird species. The rest of the day is free for swimming, relaxing or optional activities.
- Meals included : Breakfast
- Accommodation : Geko Resort or similar beach hotel in Watamu
Day 3
Into the Wild

Points of Interest : Tsavo National Park East
Today you leave the coast and head inland to explore Tsavo East National Park, which together with Tsavo West covers almost 22,000 km² and forms Kenya’s largest national park. Named after the Tsavo River that flows from west to east, the park is considered one of the world’s strongholds of biodiversity. Because of the immense size of the area, patience is often rewarded on game drives, but sightings can be spectacular. Highlights in Tsavo East include Mudanda Rock, the vast Yatta Plateau and the dramatic Lugard Falls. You enjoy your first game drives in search of wildlife before returning to your camp to relax under the African night sky.
- Meals included : Full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- Accommodation : Manyatta Camp or similar safari camp near Tsavo East
Day 4
Another Day on Safari

Points of Interest : Tsavo National Park East
You spend another full day on safari in Tsavo, home to the famed Big Five among many other species. With luck you may spot hirolas, mongooses, giraffes, bat-eared foxes, hyraxes, zebras, pangolins, Sykes’ monkeys, black-faced vervet monkeys and tiny dik-diks, to name just a few. More than 500 bird species have been recorded here, including ostriches, kestrels, starlings, weaver birds, kingfishers, buzzards, hornbills, secretary birds and herons. Tsavo’s lions are particularly renowned for the almost complete absence of manes, even in males. Since hunting has long been banned in Kenya, managing human–wildlife conflict is now crucial to conserving these rare big cats. Between game drives you can relax at camp and soak up the wilderness atmosphere.
- Meals included : Full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- Accommodation : Manyatta Camp or similar safari camp near Tsavo East

Stroll along the soft, white-sand beach, cool off with a swim in the crystal-clear ocean, watch the sunrise over the Indian Ocean or simply recline in a sun lounger and let your worries drift away. The day is free for relaxation or optional water sports and excursions.
- Meals included : Breakfast
- Accommodation : Geko Resort or similar beach hotel in Watamu
Day 6
More Time by the Sea

If you wish, you can arrange optional excursions, such as boat trips to explore the coral reefs, visits to Mida Creek’s mangroves or a guided walk in the nearby forest reserves. The pace is completely up to you.
- Meals included : Breakfast
- Accommodation : Geko Resort or similar beach hotel in Watamu
Day 7
Last Full Day on the Coast
Points of Interest : Watamu
Enjoy your final full day on Kenya’s beautiful Indian Ocean coast. Take a last early-morning swim, shop for local crafts and souvenirs, or simply relax with a book under the shade of a palm tree. This is your chance to soak up the coastal atmosphere before returning home, perhaps toasting the end of your trip with a sunset drink by the sea.
