Day 1
Welcome to Tanzania!

Points of Interest : Moshi
After you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or one of the bus terminals in Moshi, your driver will be waiting to pick you up. You are transferred to Honey Badger Lodge, where you settle in and spend your first night in Tanzania, recovering from your journey and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Day 2
Coffee plantations on the slopes of Kilimanjaro

Points of Interest : Kilimanjaro Massif
Today’s excursion takes you to local coffee growers on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. You meet farmers from the area and learn about the history of coffee cultivation here and why the Kilimanjaro region is so renowned as a coffee-growing area. You follow the journey of the bean from harvest to roasting and grinding, before enjoying a cup of coffee you have helped to produce yourself.
You return to Honey Badger Lodge for the night.

Day 3
Camping in rural Kirua

Points of Interest : Kilimanjaro Massif
The village of Kirua lies in a valley on the slopes of Kilimanjaro National Park. This area offers breathtaking scenery as well as the history, culture and customs of the Chagga people, the traditional inhabitants of Kilimanjaro. After lunch you are driven by vehicle close to your camp. The final stretch you walk on foot, breathing in the fresh mountain air.
Once at camp, you spend a relaxed evening around the campfire, enjoy dinner and soak up the silence of the mountain landscape.

Day 4
Meeting the local community

Points of Interest : Kilimanjaro Massif
In the morning you continue exploring Kirua and its surroundings. There is plenty of time to walk through the village and interact with local residents, learning more about their daily life and traditions. A traditional lunch is served in the home of one of the village elders, giving you a deeper insight into Chagga culture.
After another enriching day in Kirua you return to the camp to relax and share stories about your experiences.

Day 5
Relaxation at Honey Badger Lodge

Points of Interest : Moshi
After breakfast you are driven back to Honey Badger Lodge. The rest of the day is at leisure: unwind by the pool, stroll through the surroundings or simply rest. You also have the option to join a cooking class with the lodge staff and learn how to prepare traditional African dishes yourself.
During the afternoon you usually have a briefing about the upcoming safari, where your guide explains the route and answers your questions.

Day 6
Tarangire National Park – arrival at the tented camp

Points of Interest : Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara
You set off towards Tarangire National Park and the surrounding wildlife area. Maramboi Tented Camp is located just outside the park in an extended conservation area. Overlooking Lake Manyara, it is an excellent base for short bush walks down to the lakeshore, where flamingos, pelicans and other birdlife can often be seen.
After arrival you can relax at the camp, enjoy the views and prepare for the next day’s game drives.

Day 7
Game drives in Tarangire National Park

Points of Interest : Tarangire National Park
This morning you head out on your first game drive in Tarangire National Park. The park is spectacular year-round thanks to the permanent Tarangire River, which attracts large numbers of migratory wildlife in every season. Tarangire is especially famous for its impressive elephant populations and classic landscapes dotted with ancient baobab trees – a true elephant paradise.
You return to Maramboi Tented Camp to relax and enjoy dinner under the stars.

Day 8
Into Serengeti National Park

Points of Interest : Ngorongoro, Serengeti National Park
In the morning you drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on your way to the world-famous Serengeti. The journey usually takes between three and four hours and already reveals the sweeping vistas that gave the Serengeti its name – in Maasai, “Serengeti” means “endless plain”.
After reaching the park and settling into Kati Kati Tented Camp, you head out on your first game drive in the Serengeti. Many predators are particularly active in the evening hours, making for dramatic wildlife sightings.

Day 9
Serengeti morning safari and return towards Ngorongoro

Points of Interest : Ngorongoro, Serengeti National Park
You start the day with an early-morning game drive in the Serengeti, when wildlife activity is at its peak. After a full day of exploring the plains and observing animals, you leave the park and make your way back towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
You overnight in a lodge located on or near the crater rim, enjoying spectacular views over the landscape below.

Day 10
Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Crater

Points of Interest : Karatu
You rise early to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater as soon as possible. This unique caldera is one of the best places in Africa to search for the rare black rhinoceros. The crater also shelters impressive lion prides, including males with unusually full manes. The wetlands and waterholes attract a rich variety of waterbirds and flamingos, as well as hippos and other wildlife.
After a full day of game viewing, you drive to Endoro Lodge near Karatu, arriving in time for dinner and an overnight stay in the lush highlands.

Day 11
Mto wa Mbu and return to Moshi

Points of Interest : Lake Manyara, Moshi
Today you visit Mto wa Mbu, a small town bordering Lake Manyara National Park. It is an ideal place for cultural activities and is shaped by the traditions of many different East African tribes, with a strong Maasai presence. Thanks to this diversity, it is also a great spot to buy local handicrafts and souvenirs.
In the early afternoon you drive back to Honey Badger Lodge in Moshi, where you can round off the day with a cool drink and a traditional Tanzanian dinner.

Day 12
Rest day in Moshi

Points of Interest : Moshi
Use this free day to unwind by the pool and recover from the adventures of your safari. If you wish, you can join an optional traditional drumming class led by members of the local community around Honey Badger Lodge, offering a fun and immersive cultural experience.

Day 13
Moshi city sightseeing

Points of Interest : Moshi
After breakfast your guide picks you up at the lodge and takes you into central Moshi. You visit the main sights of the town, including buildings that date back to the period of German colonial rule. You also have more time to browse local shops and markets for last souvenirs and gifts for friends and family at home.
You return to Honey Badger Lodge for your final night in Moshi.

Day 14
Farewell to Tanzania!

Points of Interest : Moshi
On the last day of your journey we ensure that you reach your onward connection in good time. Depending on your schedule, you are transferred from Honey Badger Lodge to Kilimanjaro International Airport or to one of the bus terminals in Moshi. Your Tanzanian hosts bid you farewell and hope you will leave with many unforgettable memories.
