On arrival at the lively Nairobi airport, you are warmly welcomed by your local representative. After a short briefing about your upcoming safari adventure, you are transferred to your hotel, such as the elegant Trademark Hotel or a similar property. Use the rest of the day to relax after your journey, settle in, and start soaking up the atmosphere of Kenya’s capital before your safari begins.

    Day 2

    Lake Nakuru National Park

Flamingos and other wildlife along the shores of Lake Nakuru in Kenya, backed by acacia trees and hills.

Points of Interest : Lake Nakuru National Park

After an early, refreshing breakfast, you are picked up and driven towards Lake Nakuru National Park. You arrive at camp around lunchtime, check in and enjoy a tasty meal. In the afternoon, you set out on your first thrilling game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park was created to protect its spectacular flamingo population. Along the lakeshore you may see waterbuck, Bohor reedbuck and graceful zebras grazing. The lake is also home to both black and white rhinos.

In the late 1980s, poaching had reduced the number of black rhinos to just two. Thanks to a fenced rhino sanctuary within the park and a breeding programme in Laikipia, the Kenya Wildlife Service has managed to rebuild the rhino population. Game viewing continues until the dramatic African sunset. In the surrounding forest you may encounter buffaloes, leopards, lions, Rothschild giraffes and colobus monkeys. Enjoy an unforgettable night at Flamingo Hill Camp or a similar tented retreat.

    • Meals included : Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
    • Accommodation : Flamingo Hill Camp or similar, Lake Nakuru
    Day 3

Welcome to the famous Maasai Mara

Safari vehicle in Maasai Mara observing a herd of wildebeest and zebras on rolling grass plains at sunrise.

Points of Interest : Masai Mara

Today you continue your safari into the legendary Maasai Mara Game Reserve. In the Maa language, its name means “spotted plains”, describing the patchwork of savannah, shrubs and bushland. This reserve hosts one of Africa’s highest concentrations of big game and is widely considered the continent’s ultimate wildlife sanctuary. It forms the northern part of the vast Serengeti–Mara ecosystem, famous for the annual wildebeest migration.

After a delicious lunch at your camp, you head out on an afternoon game drive across this spectacular landscape of endless plains and rolling hills. During your stay you have ample time to explore the reserve in depth. Look out for large elephant herds, towering giraffes, powerful lion prides, and countless antelopes such as impalas, topis, Grant’s gazelles and Thomson’s gazelles. Birdlife is also abundant, with around 450 recorded species, including 57 different birds of prey.

Between July and October, millions of wildebeest surge up from the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing, turning the Mara into the stage for one of nature’s greatest shows. For a truly memorable experience, you can opt for an early-morning hot-air balloon flight over the Mara–Serengeti ecosystem followed by a champagne breakfast (available at an extra cost). You spend the night at Basecamp Adventure or a similar tented camp.

    • Meals included : Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
    • Accommodation : Basecamp Adventure or similar, Maasai Mara
    Day 4

Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley

Boat on Lake Naivasha with hippos in the water and green shores dotted with acacia trees in the Rift Valley.

Points of Interest : Lake Naivasha

After breakfast and check-out, you drive to Lake Naivasha, the first of the Great Rift Valley lakes on your route, lying on the northern flank of the imposing Mount Longonot. The lake has an important history: it served as a landing site for East Africa’s first air passengers arriving on Imperial Airways flying boats.

On arrival at your lodge, you enjoy lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon, you head out on a boat trip to discover the rich birdlife that thrives around the lake. You then visit the enchanting Crescent Island, where you can walk among free-roaming giraffes and gazelles. Many of these animals were brought here during the filming of “Out of Africa”, much of which was shot against this dramatic backdrop. You stay at Lake Naivasha Country Club or a similar property, offering a tranquil setting and memorable experiences.

    • Meals included : Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
    • Accommodation : Lake Naivasha Country Club or similar
    Day 5

Amboseli and its majestic Mount Kilimanjaro

Herd of elephants walking across Amboseli National Park with snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.

Points of Interest : Amboseli National Park

Early in the morning you set off for Amboseli National Park, renowned for its outstanding wildlife and its iconic backdrop: snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. At first glance the park appears dry and dusty, a result of volcanic ash from Kilimanjaro’s past eruptions. Yet beneath the surface, glacial meltwater from the mountain filters through volcanic rock and emerges in the park as clear springs, creating lush green swamps and oases.

You spend two days exploring Amboseli on morning and afternoon game drives. The park’s wildlife is rich and varied, including zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, impalas, caracals, servals, lions, leopards, cheetahs and buffaloes. More than 400 bird species have been recorded here, such as bee-eaters, kingfishers, African fish eagles, martial eagles and pygmy falcons. Most visitors, however, come to marvel at Amboseli’s famous elephant herds. Many bulls carry some of the largest tusks found in Kenya. On clear days you enjoy superb views of both Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru rising above the plains.

You stay at Kilima Safari Camp or a similar camp, offering an intimate bush atmosphere and close contact with nature.

    • Meals included : Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
    • Accommodation : Kilima Safari Camp or similar, Amboseli
