    Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, you complete immigration and customs formalities before heading to the exit, where your guide and driver will be waiting.     Today you discover the charm of Hanoi, often called the “Paris of the East” for its ochre colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards and scenic lakes. You visit the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an imposing marble and granite monument that houses the preserved body of the revered revolutionary leader, and the lotus-shaped One Pillar Pagoda. Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first national university founded at the end of the 11th century.

    In the afternoon, explore the Museum of Ethnology, which showcases traditional costumes and artefacts from Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minorities. Afterwards, wander through the maze of streets in the Old Quarter, whose names reflect the craft guilds that traded there in the 13th century. End the day with a lively water puppet show, a unique northern Vietnamese art form born in the flooded rice paddies of the Red River Delta, where brightly painted wooden puppets depict rural life and historic legends to music.

    Hanoi – Tho Ha village – Galaxy Cave – Nho Quan

    This day takes you into the Vietnamese countryside to meet local farmers and explore one of the region’s most beautiful caves. In the morning you drive to Tho Ha village in Nho Quan and set off on a leisurely bicycle ride through quiet villages and picturesque landscapes of rice paddies and waterways. You then reach Dong Tam hamlet, where you join in daily farming activities such as catching crabs and fish, transplanting and watering vegetables, and working in the fields alongside villagers.

    Afterwards you learn to prepare typical Vietnamese dishes and share a home-cooked lunch with a local family. In the afternoon, you board a boat along the river to reach Galaxy Cave, a 900-metre-long cavern named for its stalactites that hang from the ceiling like a sky full of stars. The cave also shelters a large colony of bats near its far end. After exploring this impressive natural site, you return by road to Hanoi.

    Hanoi & drive to Ha Long Bay

    Rise early and leave Hanoi by private car for the drive to Ha Long Bay. On arrival at the pier you check in for your overnight cruise and board your comfortable boat. As you enjoy lunch on board, the vessel glides into the bay, where dramatic limestone karsts and islets rise from the emerald water, creating one of Vietnam’s most iconic landscapes.

    In the afternoon you can join the activities organised by the cruise, such as visiting caves or fishing villages, kayaking or swimming, or simply relax on deck and take in the views. As evening falls, the boat anchors among the karst formations for the night and dinner is served on board in a romantic setting.

    Ha Long Bay & flight to Hoi An

    Wake as the sun rises over Ha Long Bay and watch the scenery unfold while the boat cruises back towards the harbour. A hearty breakfast, or brunch depending on the cruise, is served on board. After disembarkation, you transfer by private vehicle back to Hanoi Airport for your domestic flight to Da Nang.

    On arrival in Da Nang, a local driver meets you and takes you to your hotel in Hoi An. The evening is free to relax by the pool, wander the lantern-lit streets, or sample local specialities at your own pace.

    Between the 15th and 19th centuries, Hoi An—then known as Faifo—was a prosperous trading port that attracted Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish merchants. Today, this UNESCO-listed town is famed for its well-preserved merchant houses, traffic-free streets and distinctive local cuisine. In the morning you stroll through the narrow alleys of the Ancient Town to visit historic merchant homes in Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese styles, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge dating from the 1590s, the Assembly Hall of the Chaozhou Chinese with its intricate wood carvings, and the colourful local market.

    In the late afternoon you drive to Cam Thanh, an area known for its dense water coconut groves and vast rice paddies. Board a traditional round bamboo basket boat for a serene cruise along the picturesque Co Co River and admire the sunset. You then reach the Bamboo Tower, built in a rice field on the riverbank, where a cosy tent and beautifully laid table await. Enjoy an unforgettable BBQ dinner featuring fresh local produce and vegetables in an intimate setting surrounded by rice fields and the river.

You arrive at Thanh Dong Organic Farm, a 10,000 m² organic garden that supports ten local families.

    Enjoy a short walk through the vegetable plots and learn about eco-friendly cultivation methods. You then join the farmers in seasonal activities before boarding a coracle basket boat on the Do River to reach The Field Restaurant.     Saigon – Cai Be – An Binh Island – Vinh Long

    Leave Saigon by private car for a 1.5-hour drive to Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta, watching the urban skyline give way to lush rice fields and fruit orchards. You then switch to a traditional rowboat to glide along narrow rural canals and soak up the tranquillity of the delta.

    Continue to An Binh Island, where you enjoy lunch at Ut Trinh Homestay. In the afternoon, stroll through the fruit garden, sip a cup of tea and listen to traditional music in an old house. Visit a nearby village and small workshop to see how rice paper, coconut candies and puffed rice are made, and taste some sweets with hot tea. If you are not too tired, you can join an optional bicycle ride through the village to observe local life at close range—fruit orchards, schools, churches, pagodas and traditional homes. You then stop at brick kilns to watch how locals craft pottery from clay. The cruise ends in Vinh Long City, where your driver meets you for the return journey to Saigon.

You visit the iconic red-brick Notre Dame Cathedral with its twin towers, built using materials imported from France, then cross the square to the Central Post Office, completed in 1891 and known for its grand vaulted interior.

    A short drive brings you to the former Presidential Palace, the headquarters of the South Vietnamese government during the American War, followed by the War Remnants Museum, which presents a powerful account of the conflict from a Vietnamese perspective. You finish the tour at a classic street café, where you experience Saigon’s famous coffee culture while your guide shares a brief language lesson and insights into everyday life in the city. Afterwards, you are transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.
