From here a long, winding mountain road climbs to around 2,000 metres up to Jabal Al Akhdar, the “Green Mountain”. At the famous Diana’s Point viewpoint you enjoy sweeping vistas over terraced fields carved into the steep slopes. Our trip to the Sultanate of Oman left us feeling fulfilled and delighted! From the very start, planning was a breeze thanks to the direct, frequent contact with our Neos Travel specialist, who spoke excellent German and English. After we outlined our goals for Oman and roughly how much time to spend in each area, we received a concrete itinerary with a route and a range of accommodations (from hotels to Bedouin tents). We especially appreciated the flexibility of our Neos Travel contact, who incorporated our ideas promptly and concretely into the days and the driving route for our Jeep trip. The journey began with two days in Muscat, eight days on a self-driven loop, and three days of relaxing beach time in a beautiful bay. It was great that we received a phone with the planned Google Maps route for the Jeep, and we could stay in touch with our contact via WhatsApp or calls whenever needed.

Our driver-guide was simply fantastic. He was friendly, competent, and drove very safely. The accommodations were very well chosen, and the itinerary fully met our needs. This wasn't the first trip Neos Travel has organized, and it certainly won't be the last.

Three days in Salalah in the south, followed by a seven-day circuit along the Batinah coast and into the Dhofar mountains, with Rashid as an excellent guide and driver. Neos Travel arranged an immersive Oman itinerary that covered coastal excursions, dramatic mountain scenery, and vibrant towns. We explored Jebel Shams and Jebel Akhdar with three overnight stays at about 2,000 meters above sea level, visiting beautiful mountain villages and spectacular gorges. Highlights included the Al Ayn beehive tombs, Fort Jabrin, Bahla, Nizwa, Ibra, and Wadi Bani Khalid where you can swim in the gorgeous river valley. We spent a night in the Wahiba Sands dunes, explored lonely northeastern coastlines, Ras al Hadd with its turtle nesting, Sur with its impressive wooden dhow shipyard, and Muscat and the Capital Area. A memorable journey that blended culture, nature and coast in true Neos Travel fashion.
